City asks motorists to be aware of street closures, detours

Yuma, Arizona - This evening, at about 6:44 p.m., the Yuma Police Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at 5th Avenue and 12th Street.

Fire Matters

Yuma, Arizona - Some of our recent fires were trash and yard debris fire, both happen way too often. Burning trash and large bonfires are not allowed without permits. A bonfire within residential neighborhoods can be a nuisance and a hazard. Keep recreational fires small (3’ x 3’ in diameter, or less) and don’t burn trash, or anything that will give off heavy smoke or toxic fumes.

City to host welcoming and meet-and-greet for USNS Yuma Captain

Yuma, Arizona - The City of Yuma will host a welcoming and meet-and-greet event at City Hall on Saturday, December 17, for the community to welcome the USNS Yuma's future Capt. David Gommo and his crew leaders. Capt. Gommo and two of his crew leaders will be visiting Yuma, after which the U.S. Navy's new Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF) is named. The City invites media partners and community members.

Attempted Homicide in the 900 block of West Holly Drive

On December 6, at approximately 10:20 p.m. the Yuma Police Department responded to a “911 open line” call in the 900 block of West Holly Drive.  While officers were responding to the call, dispatch stated they could hear someone say “I just got shot”.
