Yuma, Arizona - This evening, at about 6:44 p.m., the Yuma Police Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at 5th Avenue and 12th Street.
The initial investigation revealed a 2004 Saturn VUE was traveling south bound in the 1100 block of 5th Avenue and collided with an 80 year old female, who was crossing 5th Avenue, heading east bond at 12th Street.
The 80 year old female was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center and is currently in serious condition. The driver of the vehicle had no reported injuries.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
This case is still under investigation.
