Washington, DC - The Justice Department announced its participation in a multinational operation involving actions in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom to disrupt and take down the infrastructure of the malware and botnet known as Emotet. Additionally, officials in Lithuania, Sweden, and Ukraine assisted in this major cyber investigative action.

House Fire 2200 block of west 16th Place

Yuma, Arizona - Last night, just after 9:40 pm, a possible house fire was reported in the 2200 block of west 16th Place. Arriving Yuma Fire Department personnel found a large shed and tree fully on fire in the backyard of 2205 west 16th Place. The fire was beginning to spread to the home. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire. The shed was considered a total loss, with the exterior wall of the home closest to the fire also being damaged.

Washington, DC - The FBI is seeking the public’s assistance with obtaining identifying information regarding an unknown female who may have critical information pertaining to the identity of a child victim in an ongoing sexual exploitation investigation. Photographs and an informational poster depicting the unknown individual, known only as Jane Doe 43, are being disseminated to the public and can be found online.

Tucson, Arizona - Daniel Escalante, 43, of Tucson, Arizona was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Rosemary Marquez to 15 years in prison. Escalante previously pleaded guilty on August 28, 2019, to one count of kidnapping, three counts of Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.

Phoenix, Arizona - Dan Volcko is a veteran Phoenix, Arizona fireman who came down with the COVID-19 virus and had to be hospitalized. Visitors were not allowed but Volcko’s coworkers were determined to see him and give him a lift, says the Association of Mature American Citizens. And so, they boarded their fire truck, backed up as close as they could to the hospital and climbed their ladder to pay their friend a window visit.
