ToroMail to be replaced, significantly upgraded during Spring Break

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College students will be logging into a new and improved email system beginning Monday, April 2. During Spring Break, AWC’s Information Technology Services and Support (AWC ITSS) staff will be replacing the college’s old server with a modern cloud-based system leveraging Microsoft Office 365. The platform will change the way students, staff, and faculty collaborate with one another, providing new tools for individual and team communications.

Yuma, Arizona - It’s warming up and we have started to see calls for snake removals. It is estimated that nearly 8,000 people are bitten by venomous snakes each year, which results in 8 to 15 deaths. It is very important to immediately seek medical treatment if you are ever bitten by a venomous snake. According to the University of Arizona’s College of Pharmacy, there are 17 different species or subspecies of rattlesnakes in Arizona, and all are venomous.

Yuma, Arizona - The City of Yuma Police Department conducted an impaired driving detail on Thursday, March 15, Friday, March 16, and Saturday, March 17, 2018 with help from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The focus was impaired driving and the apprehension of impaired drivers.
Forklift Fire at Taylor Farms

Yuma, Arizona - This morning, shortly after 5:00 am, a forklift was reported to be on fire at Taylor Farms, 4375 East Gila Ridge Road. Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to find flames coming from a propane powered forklift and a nearby 1000 gallon propane storage tank. The fire was contained and the tanks cooled until the propane burned off and the fires were extinguished.
