Yuma, Arizona - The Yuma Police Department is continuing our efforts to raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics by kicking off another “Tip-A-Cop” event. The event will be held at Chili’s Restaurant, 1331 S. Yuma Palms Pkwy, on Thursday August 4, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College welcomed its 9th President on July 1st. Dr. Daniel Corr joined the AWC family from Scottsdale Community College. He is committed to building on the tremendous success achieved by AWC in recent years and looks forward to being an active member of the many communities served by the college. He will focus his early efforts on facilitating student success, increasing access to higher education, creating a comprehensive strategic plan, and fostering a climate of innovation, collaboration and stewardship at AWC.
Jeep Wrangler spare tire thefts

Yuma, Arizona - The Yuma Police Department has taken 8 reports reference spare tires stolen from the back of Jeep Wrangler vehicles from January 7, 2016 to July 22, 2016. Four of these reports were taken this month. There does not appear to be a specific area or pattern to where this is happening.
Spanish Club

Yuma, Arizona - Beginning Tuesday, August 2nd, the Main Library will host “Spanish Club” every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Learn basic vocabulary and phrases, and practice speaking Spanish with other learners in a supportive, low-stress environment. The group will meet in the second-floor classroom.
