Phoenix Mother Indicted, Accused of Using 13-Year-Old Daughter to Hide Cocaine

Phoenix, Arizona - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced a State Grand Jury indicted Rufina Lopez Covarruvia for allegedly using her 13-year-old daughter to try and hide cocaine from officers during a traffic stop. Covarruvia is charged with multiple felony charges including one count of Involving or Using a Minor in a Drug Offense, a Dangerous Crime Against Children.

Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey Wednesday met with firefighters who serve on wildfire crews from around the state to thank them for their dedicated work to protect Arizona residents, pets and infrastructure this year. Since the start of 2019, Arizona wildland firefighters have battled approximately 1,700 fires that consumed more than 355,000 acres.
