Yuma, Arizona - Everyone is invited to make a splash against crime. The 2016 Splash Out Crime Night takes place on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Valley Aquatic Center. Entry to the event is only one dollar and features unlimited access to Yuma’s favorite pool complex, music, prizes, a dunk tank, and lots of fun. Concessions will be available, too. There will be Yuma Police vehicles and equipment on hand for display and interaction with the public.
The highly anticipated annual fundraiser is hosted by the City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Department, Yuma Police Department, and 78-Crime Stoppers, Inc. for the purpose of raising funds for 78-Crime. 78-Crime is an anonymous crime tip line designed to bring law enforcement, the news media, and citizens together to combat crime and make our community a safer place to live. 78-Crime Stoppers, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization run by a volunteer board of directors to serve the greater Yuma area. Reward money paid for applicable tips is made possible through donations and support from the community.
Splash Out Crime Night is a night of cool fun and also an opportunity to raise awareness of 78-Crime Stoppers which is not just a local effort but national and international as well. “Citizens who are alert and involved are vital to ensuring that their neighborhoods remain safe and friendly places to live and work,” said 78-Crime Stoppers, Inc. Board President, Rick Holtz.
Yuma 78-Crime Stoppers ask anyone with information about a crime to call their secure, anonymous tip line at 78-Crime (782-7463) any time of the day or night. If the information provided leads to an arrest of a suspect or suspects, the caller may be eligible to receive up to $1,000 in the form of a cash reward. All entry fees from Splash Out Crime Night and a portion of concessions revenue all benefit the work of 78-Crime Stoppers, Inc.
