Yuma, Arizona - The Arizona Western College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) took home awards this year at the All Hands awards ceremony in Cottonwood Arizona, June 2016. The All Hands is an SBDC Network training event where everyone from AWC’s SBDC Network gets professional development trainings. The event is run through the Arizona Small Business Development Center Network who oversees the grant that funds AWC’s program.
AWC SBDC received the following awards and recognition:
- 2016 Center of Excellence Arizona Western College SBDC
- 2016 Star Performer Randy Nelson
- Re-Certification of Achievement & recognition as a Certified SBDC Counselor for Randy Nelson
- Certification of Achievement & recognition as a Certified SBDC Counselor for Vanessa Castillo
With the Star Performer award, Randy Nelson (Director of Small Business Development Center at AWC) has been invited to the SBDC 36th Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida this September 2016. There Nelson will be one of 63 to be honored as America’s SBDC “State Stars”. Over 1500 people will be in attendance at this year’s conference and this will be Nelson’s second National recognition.
America’s SBDC “State Stars”, must meet the following criteria to receive the prestigious award: be an exemplary performer; makes a significant contribution to their state or regional SBDC program; and shows a strong commitment to small business.
