Yuma, Arizona - It is just about summertime in Yuma (with a big holiday weekend coming up!) that means we all need to take extra precautions and be more aware. Even Yumans take some time to adjust to the constant 100 degree days and sustained heat in the evenings that will soon be here. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids, but avoid heavily sugared, caffeinated, and alcoholic beverages, they can even add to dehydration.

Yuma, Arizona On Sunday May 20, 2018 just after 11:00 am, a brush fire was reported near Riverside Park, east of the Territorial Prison. Arriving Yuma Fire Department (YFD) personnel found smoke showing approximately ½ mile east of Riverside Park on the south side of the Colorado River.
Spay and Neuter Grant 2018

Yuma, Arizona - City residents still have time to take advantage of a grant provided by the Arizona Companion Animal Spay and Neuter Committee. The grant provides funds to assist with the spaying and neutering of domesticated dogs and cats.
Memorial Day DUI Detail 2018

Yuma, Arizona - The City of Yuma Police Department is conducting an impaired driving detail on Friday, May 25th, Saturday, May 26th, Sunday, May 27th, and Monday May 28th, 2018. Additional officers will be used to rove city streets looking to stop and arrest drivers who are impaired by alcohol or drugs. These DUI patrols are, in addition to regularly scheduled patrol officers, all looking for the signs of an impaired driver behind the wheel.
