Native Grill & Wings to Open in Yuma

Yuma, Arizona - Native Grill & Wings, an award winning Arizona restaurant chain known for its 20+ wing flavors that guests can order by the individual wing, is opening its first Yuma location on September 5. The new restaurant will be located at 1731 East 16th Street, and mark’s Native’s first venture in Yuma.

Labor Day DUI Detail

Yuma, Arizona - The City of Yuma Police Department is conducting an impaired driving detail on Friday, September 2nd, Saturday, September 3rd, Sunday, September 4th, and Monday, September 5th, 2016. Additional officers will be used to rove city streets looking to stop and arrest drivers who are impaired by alcohol or drugs. These DUI patrols are, in addition to regularly scheduled patrol officers, all looking for the signs of an impaired driver behind the wheel.

Domestic Violence 1400 block of West 12th Lane update

Yuma, Arizona - On August 27th, 2016 at 3:20pm.  Officers with the Yuma Police Department responded to a 911 call of a Domestic Disturbance in the 1400 block of West 12th Ln. Upon arrival officers discovered a Lanika Ortega, 36 year old female, in the driveway of her residence with stab wounds.  She was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center, but succumbed to her injuries.

AWC Nursing Program Receives Continuing Accreditation from ACEN

Yuma, Arizona - The Arizona Western College (AWC) nursing program has received continuing accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) for 8 years and continued approval from the Arizona State Board of Nursing (AZBN). The AZBN will follow up in 2 years to review changes that AWC’s program has made.

Main Library Open House
