Washington, DC - The Vice President spoke today by phone with President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci. The Vice President commended the leaders on the agreement they reached to resume talks in Geneva on January 9 and praised the courage and vision of the leaders that has made possible the progress thus far.

Yuma, Arizona - In November of 2016 a joint investigation begun on a potential drug manufacturing lab in the 2200 block of South Elks Lane. The Yuma Police Department’s Narcotic and Street Crimes Unit worked in conjunction with Yuma County Narcotics Task Force, United States Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations, Drug Enforcement Administration, Yuma Fire Department and Arizona Department of Public Safety in reference to this investigation.

Yuma, Arizona - On Tuesday, at approximately 10:22 p.m., Yuma Police Officers were dispatched to James E. Jefferson Manor Apartments, 1350 W. 5th Street, in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located 23 year old Gabriel Lugo outside in the driveway area of the complex. Lugo sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Last week at least 38 emergency medical responses were for injuries related to falls, and there have been many HUNDREDS every year. Every week about 10% of our calls for service are fall related. This could be something as simple as tripping in a parking lot or cases often more serious, like falling from a ladder or roof. No matter your age or activity, it pays to watch your footing and be careful.
