Fortaleza, Brazil - In not only his first international appearance but his first time outside the United States, sophomore Kordell Norfleet won gold at the 2018 Junior Pan American Championships. Fellow Sun Devil Brandon Courtney, who redshirted his freshman season in 2017-18, earned a bronze medal in the day's competition. As nine Americans won gold in men's freestyle at the competition, the U.S. also earned the team title.
Apartment Fire Sprinkler Save at 600 South 16th Avenue

Yuma, Arizona - On Saturday, just after 8:20 pm, a fire was reported in an apartment in the Housing Authority City of Yuma (HACY) apartments at 600 South 16th Avenue. Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to find that a stove top fire had been extinguished by the apartment’s fire suppression sprinkler system. Firefighters shut down the water flow and assisted with clean up.

Fire in Vacant House deemed intentionally set

Yuma, Arizona - On Friday, shortly after 8:40 pm, a fire was reported in a vacant house in the 900 block of South 1st Avenue. Upon arrival Yuma Fire Department personnel found heavy smoke and flames coming from a small house. Firefighters were able to confirm the house was vacant and quickly extinguished the fire before it spread to any other structures.

Alexandria, Virginia - A naturalized U.S. citizen residing in Alexandria, Virginia, was arrested today by special agents of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) after being indicted on a felony charge of having fraudulently obtained U.S. citizenship.
22 Charged With Smuggling Millions of Dollars of Counterfeit Luxury Goods From China Into the United States

New York - Thursday, six indictments and one criminal complaint were unsealed in federal court in Brooklyn, New York, charging a total of 22 defendants with illegally bringing into the United States millions of dollars of Chinese-manufactured goods by smuggling them through ports of entry on the East and West Coasts. One defendant is also charged with unlawful procurement of naturalization. Twenty-one defendants were arrested Thursday morning, and their initial court appearances and arraignments are scheduled before U.S. Magistrate Judge Lois Bloom.
