Yuma, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey Thursday joined Walgreens to highlight the expansion of safe medication disposal kiosks across Arizona, aiding the state’s fight against prescription drug and opioid abuse. Walgreens developed safe medication disposal kiosks to provide a convenient and secure way to dispose of unwanted over-the-counter medications, prescriptions or controlled substances - including opioids.

Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey Tuesday joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) to launch Mobilize AZ, a multi-faceted program to address the misuse of opioids and other substances and reduce overdose-related deaths in Arizona. The $10 million from BCBSAZ will support prevention, treatment, and recovery programs to help providers, the community, and local organizations fight against the opioid epidemic over three years. The investment is on top of the $10 million dollars Arizona invested to help uninsured and underinsured people get the addiction treatment they need as part of the Arizona Opioid Epidemic Act.

Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey Monday declared a State of Emergency for the Town of Mammoth in Pinal County after unusual amounts of heavy rain from monsoons compromised the town’s potable water system. The storms resulted in significant roadway damage and the loss of accessible water throughout the area, including for personal use, and has prevented emergency response capabilities for fire suppression. Currently, Mammoth has established cooling centers and is distributing water to residents.
