Yuma, Arizona - Did you know that more drivers and passengers are affected by work zone injuries and fatalities than workers? Nationally, work zone crashes occur at an average of one per every 5.8 minutes. The top three causes? Following too closely, inattentive and/or distracted driving, and excessive speed. The Yuma County Public Works Department will hold a series of activities next week that are open to the public.

Houston, Texas - A Texas woman was sentenced Thursday to 70 months in prison for her scheme to defraud the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) of over $1.9 million in loans guaranteed by the Small Business Administration (SBA) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

Jacksonville, Florida - BayCare Health System Inc. and entities that operate four affiliated Florida hospitals (collectively BayCare) have agreed to pay the United States $20 million to resolve allegations that BayCare violated the False Claims Act by making donations to the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County (JWB) to improperly fund the state’s share of Medicaid payments to BayCare. The four hospitals are Morton Plant Hospital, Mease Countryside Hospital, Mease Dunedin Hospital and St. Anthony’s Hospital.
