Yuma, Arizona - On Saturday January 19, 2019, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, the Yuma Fire Department will be holding its 4th Annual Open House. This event will take place at the Public Safety Training Facility, 3575 South Avenue 4E.

The Open House will include displays of fire and rescue vehicles and equipment. Displays will be staffed by YFD personnel to answer any questions you might have. Also, demonstrations of firefighting and rescue equipment are scheduled to begin at approximately 10:30 and continue throughout the event at 30-45 minute intervals.

Some of the demonstrations planned for Saturday include vehicle extrication, emergency medical response, 100’ aerial ladder climb, and fighting of vehicle and structure fires. Sparky the Fire Dog will be there and there will be other hands on and fun activities for the kids. Refreshments will be provided.

For the last 3 previous years, the open house has been held as a part of Fire Prevention Week in October. Taking advantage of cooler temperatures and to reach a greater cross section of Yuma’s residents, this year’s event is being held in January. For many people contact with YFD personnel comes only during emergency situations, come out and meet your Yuma Fire Department under more enjoyable circumstances!
