Yuma, Arizona - On Friday, September 28, at approximately 6:08 p.m., Yuma Police Department Officers responded to a serious injury motor vehicle collision in the intersection of 32nd Street and Avenue 4E.
The initial investigation revealed a 2005 Dodge Neon, driven by an 18 year old male, was traveling north bound on Avenue 4E. A 2013 Nissan Murano, driven by a 67 year old male, was traveling west bound on 32nd Street. The vehicles collided in the intersection, causing a 17 year old female passenger in the Dodge Neon to be ejected from the vehicle.
All three occupants of the vehicles were transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center. The 17 year old passenger and 67 year old driver were later flown out to a Phoenix Hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. All are considered to be in stable condition.
This case is still under investigation. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision.
The Yuma Police Department Traffic Division would like to remind drivers to obey all traffic signals. All drivers and passengers should always wear a seatbelt while traveling in a motor vehicle.
