Yuma, Arizona - High school 11th and 12th graders in Talent Search and Upward Bound programs have been invited to the AWC Yuma Campus to learn more about college. During AWC’s Off to College event, seniors will participate in a financial aid presentation, learn where and how to search for scholarships, hear from a college student panel, and learn how to read an award letter from a college or university.

Juniors will also learn about how to seek out scholarships and hear from a college student panel as well as take part in a scavenger hunt around campus. They will conclude their visit to AWC with lunch in the Eatery. Students participating in the event will be from Parker, Kofa, Cibola, Antelope, San Luis, and Yuma high schools.

Talent Search and Upward Bound are both federally funded grant programs through the U.S. Department of Education.  They are designed to help students graduate from high school and continue on to college, ultimately earning a post-secondary degree.  Eligible students are potential first-generation college students, and/or low income.
