Yuma, Arizona - On Friday, the Yuma Police Department was informed of the arrest of one of our police officers, while off duty, in San Diego, California.
On Thursday, September 15, 2017 at 4:23 a.m., San Diego Police Officers responded to a sexual assault call. 33 year old Jared Elkins was taken into custody and later booked into San Diego County Jail on sexual assault charges.
Jared Elkins has been a police officer with the Yuma Police Department for 7 years. The Department is in the process of placing him on administrative paid leave until further notice.
