Yuma, Arizona - Eleven separate complaints alleging the City violated Arizona’s open meetings law over 14 different dates were collectively closed by the state Attorney General’s office, the City learned recently.
The majority of these complaints, one from former Mayor Phil Clark, span between October 7, 2015, and April 20, 2016.
“This matter is now closed,” wrote Thomas C. Raine, Assistant Attorney General, in a letter to the City.
“We are pleased the attorney general’s office quickly applied the facts to more baseless allegations and put these complaints to rest once again,” said City Administrator Greg Wilkinson. “It’s unfortunate so much time is wasted by the City and the AG’s office, which has more important issues to deal with.”
