Yuma, Arizona - The City of Yuma invites members of the public to either of two public information meetings on the status of the Smucker Park Retention Basin, to be held at 5 p.m. on both September 15 and 28 at Kofa High School's cafeteria, located at 3100 S. Avenue A.
Design for the construction of a storm water retention basin in the area surrounding Ray Smucker Park is currently underway. Its construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in the summer of 2017.
Representatives from the City of Yuma and the Yuma County Flood Control District will be in attendance at the public meetings and available to answer questions.
The meetings will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15 and again on Wednesday, Sept. 28 inside the cafeteria at Kofa High School. The two meetings aim to provide the public with information regarding the upcoming project and have been scheduled on separate dates to accommodate anyone who cannot make one or the other.
