Armed robbery First Bank Yuma 2799 S. 4th Ave suspect Robert Wallace arrested

Yuma, Arizona - Today, at approximately 4:48 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery call at First Bank Yuma, located at 2799 S. 4th Avenue.  The suspect approached the teller, announced he had a gun and demanded money.  The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

YFD Personnel Complete Technical Rescue Training

Yuma, Arizona - At last Wednesday’s City Council meeting 4 members of the Yuma Fire Department were recognized for their recent completion of Technical Rescue training. Fire Captain Alvin Luedtke, Fire Engineer Aaron Wonders, Firefighter David Padilla Jr., and Firefighter Justin Zahn attended the intense 200 hour training program made possible with the assistance of grant funding in cooperation with the Southern Arizona Regional Technical Rescue Group (SARTRG).

National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims in Yuma County

Yuma, Arizona - September 25, 2019 marks the 12th annual National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims.  The first National Day of Remembrance took place on September 25, 2007. The purpose was to honor the memories of murder victims across the country and recognize the impact homicide can have on surviving family members, friends and loved ones. Yuma Fire Department Assistant Chief Completes EFO Program

Yuma, Arizona - At last week’s City Council meeting it was announced that Assistant Fire Chief Dustin “Dusty” Fields had completed the Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program of the National Fire Academy.  Chief Fields is one of only 3 currently serving YFD members who have completed the program. Fire Chief Steve Irr, and Battalion Chief Mike Walton are the other members from YFD.
