CBP Officers Seize $275K of Drugs at Port of San Luis

San Luis, Arizona - U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, officers arrested 3 U.S. citizens for two separate alleged attempts to smuggle 168 pounds of heroin and methamphetamine through the Port of San Luis over the weekend.
Heat Illness Responses at Castle Dome Middle School

Yuma, Arizona - Today, just before 1:00 pm, a pull station fire alarm was received from Castle Dome Middle School, 2353 South Otondo Drive. The school was in session at the time and Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to find evacuations in progress. Firefighters worked with school officials to confirm there was no fire in the school and determined this had been a false alarm set off by a student.

Yuma, Arizona - Today, the Yuma Police Department began receiving information regarding a post on a Facebook page called "Los Algodones Baja California Mexico". The post shows a an illustration of a figure dressed in military gear with a rifle claiming a Walmart in Yuma and Yuma Palms are at high risk for a possible attack on Mexicans.
House Fire 7700 block of East Topeka Place

Yuma, Arizona - On Sunday, at around 5:00 pm, a house fire was reported in the 7700 block of East Topeka Place. Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to find a tile roofed house with a large amount of fire in the back patio area and heavy smoke coming from the gable vents at 7711 E. Topeka Place. The fire was also endangering the neighboring property. Firefighters were able to stop the fire spread and extinguish it in a timely manner.

Yuma, Arizona - A Yuma Sector Border Patrol agent working along the Colorado River near County 9th Street rescued a Honduran national struggling to stay afloat after he illegally entered the United States Saturday.
