Yuma, Arizona - Arizona's Children Association is joining forces with two Yuma Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurants located at 11231 E. Commercial Center Loop and 1580 S. 4th Ave. for the 11th Annual March “Month of Giving” campaign to fund local charities. During the month of March, customers can make a donation to Arizona's Children Association at these Jersey Mike’s restaurants.

Yuma, Arizona - On Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at approximately 6:04 p.m., the Yuma Police Department responded to the 400 block of S. Magnolia Avenue for a report of shots fired.
Apartment Fire La Posada Apartments, 1980 West 30th Street

Yuma, Arizona - Yesterday, just before 1:15 pm, a fire was reported at the La Posada Apartments, 1980 West 30th Street. Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to find a stovetop fire had occurred in an apartment and the fire had been extinguished by the fire suppression sprinkler system. A pot of oil had splashed and was ignited by the stove’s burner.

Yuma, Arizona - Last week YFD personnel found themselves responding to multiple “welfare check” types of calls regarding preschool age children. Responses involving children are not unusual, over the last few weeks we have had them locking themselves or being unintentionally locked in houses and vehicles. However, several calls from last week involved children being intentionally left alone or unsupervised in these situations.
