Washington, DC - On July 11, the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs will host the first-ever Global Teaching Dialogue for K-12 teachers across the United States. Participants will learn about ways to integrate foreign affairs topics and global learning opportunities into their classrooms. They will also hear about international resources available to them, including State Department-sponsored exchange programs.
The event will take place at the State Department in the George C. Marshall Center at 2:00 p.m. Speakers include Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Evan Ryan and Deputy Science and Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State Dr. Frances Colon. Shanna Peeples, the 2015 U.S. National Teacher of the Year, will share how her experience traveling to the Middle East impacted her teaching career in Texas.
