Washington, DC - Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration Anne C. Richard will travel to San Jose, Costa Rica from July 5-8 to attend a high-level roundtable convened by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Organization of American States (OAS), entitled "Call to Action: Protection Needs in the Northern Triangle of Central America.”
The July 6-7 roundtable will be hosted by the government of Costa Rica and sponsored by the Central American Integration System (SICA), and will focus on forced displacement linked to crime and violence in the Northern Triangle.
