Phoenix Metro Area Leads Nation For New Jobs Created

Phoenix, Arizona - In another sign of Arizona’s booming economy, the Phoenix metropolitan area led the nation for new jobs created over the last year. In a report released today from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale metropolitan statistical area (MSA) had the largest total nonfarm job growth of all large MSAs from May 2018 to May 2019.

Tucson, Arizona - On June 25, Eli Lawrence Manuel, 30, of Sells, Arizona, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge James A. Soto to 31 months of imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. Manuel had previously pleaded guilty on March 6, to assault with a dangerous weapon.

Phoenix, Arizona - Oliver Hurley, of Inscription House, Arizona, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Dominic W. Lanza to 18 months of imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. Hurley had previously pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon.

Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey ordered that flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff on Sunday, June 30, 2019 in honor of the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots who gave their lives protecting their fellow Arizonans from the Yarnell Hill Fire in 2013.
