Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey today released the following statement for Thanksgiving:
"Thanksgiving reminds us to take time, before the busy Christmas season, to pause and give thanks for the many blessings God has bestowed upon us as Americans.
"Today, as with every day, we are thankful to live in a country with unparalleled freedom - one that upholds the values and principles of justice, equality, and self-determination.
"We are thankful for the many men and women who will be away from their families while they defend our country, keep our streets safe, and respond to emergencies. These are our members of law enforcement, first responders, medical professionals, service members in uniform and countless others who make service a part of their daily calling.
"We are thankful for the volunteers who give up their free time to make the holidays brighter for those in need.
"And from the depths of the Grand Canyon to the peaks of the Chiricahuas, we are thankful to live in a state filled with as much beauty, splendor, and boundless opportunity as ours.
"I wish all Arizonans a happy and blessed Thanksgiving and a joyful holiday season ahead."
