Yuma, Arizona - The AWC family would like to send a Congratulations and Felicidades to Everardo Martinez, who served as our Associate Dean for South Yuma County. Everardo leaves AWC to become Dean of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Imperial Valley College. Everardo served AWC students for nearly 14 years as a tireless advocate for South County, and as an adjunct Professor of World Art.

Yuma, Arizona - On June 7, 2016 the Yuma Police Department responded to 180 W. 1st Street, Yuma Visitor’s Bureau, reference to a theft from a former employee. It is alleged that Fernando Zacarias, the former accountant for the Yuma Visitor’s Bureau, made fraudulent money transfers from the YVB business account to his personal account. Zacarias was arrested on June 9th reference this case and has been released. This is still an intensive ongoing investigation.

Yuma, Arizona - The TRIO KEYS Program at Arizona Western College would like to invite the AWC campus communities and the general public to their Fall 2016 Open House on Wednesday, August 31st from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in the KEYS Building (formerly Cottage 1). At 10:00 am, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new space.
Western Union Anti-Money Laundering Settlement Agreement

Phoenix, Arizona - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced today a major development in the Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) agreement between Western Union Financial Services, Inc. and the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. An independent court monitor found Western Union successfully implemented all of the primary recommendations required in the settlement agreement amendment dated January 31, 2014.
