Phoenix, Arizona - Opioid addiction knows no boundaries. Next week, the FBI and DEA are teaming up to raise awareness of the dangers of opioids and opioid addiction. The two agencies are inviting the media and members of the public to attend a free screening of ‘Chasing the Dragon: The Life of an Opiate Addict’, followed by a panel discussion. This event will be held in Phoenix on August 15, 2018.

Tucson, Arizona - Wednesday morning in Tucson, FBI agents arrested a local attorney and his assistant for allegedly obstructing justice, tampering with a witness and assisting an offender in avoiding apprehension in a criminal case, announced United States Attorney John F. Bash of the Western District of Texas and FBI Special Agent in Charge Michael DeLeon, Phoenix Field Office.

Phoenix, Arizona - Tuesday, Ethan Barlow, 27, of Kayenta, Arizona, and a member of the Navajo Nation, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell to 46 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release. Barlow had previously pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter.
Felon Sentenced to 18 Months in Prison for Possessing Firearm on Hopi Reservation

Phoenix, Arizona - Last week, Eric Lorenzo Sanchez, 25, of Second Mesa, Arizona, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Diane J. Humetewa to 18 months’ imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release. Sanchez, an enrolled member of the Hopi Tribe, had previously pleaded guilty to possession of an unregistered weapon made from a shotgun.

Payson, Arizona - On Monday, August 6, 2018, the FBI and our partner agencies arrested two suspects in connection with the Mazatzal Casino Robbery in Payson, Arizona. Ryan Pearson, 31, and Armando Ochoa, 32, were arrested in Payson without incident. Both were employees of the Mazatzal Casino.
