Yuma Fire Department’s firefighters have returned home from California Fires

Yuma, Arizona - Yuma Fire Department’s firefighters, deployed to help with wildfires burning near Yucaipa, CA and later Fresno, CA, have returned home! As of Saturday September 19, 2020, they had been deployed for two weeks and four additional YFD Firefighters had arrived to replace them. The original four YFD personnel started back for Yuma Sunday morning and arrived safely back late Sunday afternoon.

Yuma, Arizona - This year the Yuma Fire Department and the City of Yuma are again joining a national tribute to “Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters”. October 3th and 4th is the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, and since 2017 landmarks around the country have been lighted in red during this time in remembrance of those who have given their lives in the line of duty.
