Forensic Interviewer Sentenced to 4 Months in Prison for Embezzling Money from Employer

Flagstaff, Arizona - A Coconino County Superior Court Judge sentenced Carli Moncher, a former forensic interviewer, to four months in prison for embezzling money from her employer.

'Grimace Bandit' Sentenced to 84 Months in Prison

Phoenix, Arizona - On October 22, 2018, Miranda Maloney, 34, also known as the “Grimace Bandit,” was sentenced to 84 months in prison, along with 36 months of supervised release, and was ordered to pay restitution of $15,085.00.

Camp Verde Man Sentenced to 27 Months in Prison for Burglary of Tribal Entity

Phoenix, Arizona - Last week, Francisco Joseph Doungeva, 44, of Camp Verde, Arizona, was sentenced by United States District Judge Douglas L. Rayes to 27 months in federal prison, followed by one year of supervised release.  On August 6, 2018, Doungeva had previously pleaded guilty to one count of burglary.

Pinon Man Sentenced to Prison for Aggravated Assault

Phoenix, Arizona - Tuesday, Paitric Small, 30, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge G. Murray Snow to 32 months’ imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for aggravated assault on the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation.  On March 19, 2018, Small assaulted the victim with a machete; they are both members of the Navajo Nation.  Small had previously pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon.

Governor Ducey Announces Retirement Of AHCCCS Director Tom Betlach

Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey today announced that Thomas Betlach, director of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), will retire in January 2019, after 27 years of distinguished service to the state of Arizona. Mr. Betlach led Arizona’s Medicaid agency for the past nine years and served as its deputy director for the prior eight years.
