Washington, DC - Google has just rolled out the stable release of Chrome 66 across all major platforms, and it’s fair to say that not everyone is going to like it. That’s because Google has dealt its first blow to websites that are currently protected by Symantec, and its subsidiary certificate authorities. Any Symantec, GeoTrust, RapidSSL and Thawte SSL certifcates that were issued before June 2016 are now distrusted by Chrome 66. Any certificates that have been issued between June 2016 and December 2017 will need to be reissued before October 23, 2018.

Washington, DC - The United States condemns yesterday’s shooting of civilian employees of the Donetsk Filtration Station in Ukraine, which left five individuals wounded. The filtration station has temporarily shut down following the incident. In addition to endangering the lives of innocent civilians, this attack threatened water supplies for almost 350,000 Ukrainians living on both sides of the line of contact.

Austin, Texas - On April 11, the Department of Justice secured the denaturalization of two individuals – one convicted of engaging in sexual contact with a minor, and the other who fictitiously created a family to secure a Diversity Immigrant Visa. Judge Joe Fish of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas entered an order to revoke the U.S. citizenship of Emmanuel Olugbenga Omopariola, and Judge Susan Richard Nelson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota entered an order to revoke the U.S. citizenship of Fosia Abdi Adan.
