22 Charged With Smuggling Millions of Dollars of Counterfeit Luxury Goods From China Into the United States

New York - Thursday, six indictments and one criminal complaint were unsealed in federal court in Brooklyn, New York, charging a total of 22 defendants with illegally bringing into the United States millions of dollars of Chinese-manufactured goods by smuggling them through ports of entry on the East and West Coasts.  One defendant is also charged with unlawful procurement of naturalization.  Twenty-one defendants were arrested Thursday morning, and their initial court appearances and arraignments are scheduled before U.S. Magistrate Judge Lois Bloom.

Attorney General’s Advisory Subcommittee on Native American Issues Meets to Discuss Crime Reduction Strategies in Indian Country

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Attorney General’s Advisory Subcommittee on Native American Issues (NAIS) met in Tulsa, Oklahoma from August 13-15 to discuss crime reduction strategies in Indian Country, the Department of Justice announced today.  U.S. Attorney Trent S. Shores the Northern District of Oklahoma, who also serves as Chairman of the NAIS, and Principal Chief of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation James Floyd gave remarks.  On Tuesday, August 14, the NAIS visited and met with the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
