Justice Department Settles Immigration-Related Discrimination Claim Against Produce Distributor

Washington, DC - The Department of Justice Wednesday announced that it reached a settlement agreement with Pete Pappas and Sons Inc. (Pappas and Sons), a produce distribution company located in Jessup, Maryland. The settlement resolves claims that Pappas and Sons violated the antidiscrimination provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) by unlawfully requesting specific work authorization documents from non-U.S. citizens based on their citizenship or immigration status.

The FTC alleged that they tricked consumers into paying illegal upfront fees in hopes of reducing or eliminating their student loan debt.

Washington, DC - Wednesday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued the draft guidance, General Clinical Pharmacology Considerations for Neonatal Studies for Drugs and Biological Products. The neonatal period is defined as the day of birth plus 27 days for full-term infants and as the day of birth through the expected date of delivery plus 27 days for preterm infants.
