Yuma, Arizona - AWC is excited to announce that AWC Fitness Classes (PERS) have found a new home. Beginning Monday, August 20, the majority of AWC Fitness Classes will be held across 24th Street from the main entrance to Main Campus, in the Tamarack Market Plaza (TM on Class Schedule), which was previously the location of Tamarack Market and GraceWay Church.
This beautiful new location will accommodate all of AWC PERS (physical education, recreation and wellness) main campus classes in Dance, Karate, Aerobics, Cycling, Yoga, Zumba, Self Defense, Core Conditioning and Personal Training Certificate. The facility features two large classrooms, and is currently being outfitted with a sound system and mirrors to ensure it is up to standards for our PERS faculty and students.
Students are advised to check Web Advisor or Class Schedule online to confirm specific class details. Fitness for Life, some Personal Training and other specific classes will continue at the GYM or FITNESS CENTER on the main campus of AWC. Also, this will not impact Fitness classes held in Parker, San Luis, Somerton, or other locations away from Main Campus.
This change was needed to make room on campus for several grant-related construction projects, including the exciting UA-AWC Futures Grant to bring a 4-year degree in Systems Engineering to Yuma.
