Yuma Fire Department Assistant Chief Completes EFO Program

Yuma, Arizona - At last week’s City Council meeting it was announced that Assistant Fire Chief Dustin “Dusty” Fields had completed the Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program of the National Fire Academy.  Chief Fields is one of only 3 currently serving YFD members who have completed the program. Fire Chief Steve Irr, and Battalion Chief Mike Walton are the other members from YFD.

Yuma High School bus of female volleyball players in collision sustaining injuries

El Centro, California - Last night, at approximately 8:40 pm, officers from the El Centro Police Department responded to the area of Imperial and Elm in reference to reports of a traffic collision which involved a school bus. Officers arrived on scene and verified that a Yuma High School bus full of female volleyball players had collided with two vehicles waiting for the red light at Hamilton Ave.

September is National Preparedness Month

Yuma, Arizona - So far over the course of 2019 (and even now during Preparedness Month) we have seen quite a bit of devastating weather and other natural disasters. Hurricanes, earthquakes, wild fires have caused deaths, injuries and billions in property damage in our country and others. Even though we have had a mild Monsoon Season so far, we still have that potential for severe storms and wild fires are always a concern around our state.
