Nogales, Arizona - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Arizona’s Port of Nogales apprehended four U.S. citizens and a Mexican national involved in connection with separate failed attempts to smuggle more than 84 pounds of heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine into the United States over the weekend.

Washington, DC - The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released its monthly Employment Situation Report showing that nonfarm payroll employment rose by 223,000 jobs in May, exceeding what forecasters expected. The U.S. economy continues its streak of consecutive positive monthly job numbers, with employment growth averaging 207,000 jobs per month in 2018—faster than the gains in both 2016 and 2017. The economy has added nearly 3 million jobs since President Donald J. Trump took office.
