Amendments to the Terrorist Designations of al-Shabaab

Washington, DC - The Department of State has amended the designation of al-Shabaab – an al-Qa’ida affiliate in Somalia – to include al-Hijra and other aliases. These aliases have been added to al-Shabaab’s designations as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) under Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, and as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) under section 1(b) of Executive Order 13224. Additionally, the Department of State also completed al-Shabaab’s legally required five-year FTO review and determined that the designation would be maintained.

Washington, DC - Win Opportunity Knocks, doing business as Ottomanelli Wholesale Meats Inc., a St. Petersburg, Fla. establishment, is recalling approximately 6,020 pounds of fresh and frozen, raw ground beef products that may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) O45, O103 and O145, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

Washington, DC - While seemingly massive, the fine will cost Google just two weeks worth of revenues. The European Union has fined Google $5 billion (€4.34 billion) for anticompetitive practices involving its Android phones. Specifically, the EU is penalizing Google for using its Android OS to push its apps on smart phone users and thwart competition.

Washington, DC - Dear Rusty: I am 63 ½ and I am officially retiring from my job on August 1 because I’m physically unable to do the work anymore. I have qualified for a pension from work and I also want to start receiving my Social Security benefits. What happens if I choose to go back to work full time or part time in the future?
