Tucson, Arizona - Wednesday, Roger Dale Godwin, 40, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Raner Collins to 48 months in the Bureau of Prisons followed by three years of supervised release. Godwin had previously pleaded guilty to making threats against the President and mailing threatening communications.

Tucson, Arizona - Seth Nichols was sentenced by United States District Judge Cindy Jorgensen to 60 months in prison. Nichols had previously pleaded guilty to bank fraud.

Phoenix, Arizona - On December 17, David John Dziedzic, 55, of Scottsdale, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell to 30 months’ imprisonment for his lead role in criminal activity related to the short sale of distressed mortgages, some of which were federally-insured. Dziedzic had previously pleaded guilty to one count of communication of unregistered securities, and a separate count involving the failure to notify the Treasury Department of his collection of more than $10,000 in cash from a real estate customer.

Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey Friday announced that regardless of whether the federal government shuts down, the Grand Canyon will remain open. Visitors to the Grand Canyon will continue to have access to services like trails, shuttles and public restrooms under Arizona’s Grand Canyon Protection Plan, a plan put in place by Governor Ducey following the federal government shutdown earlier this year.
