Yuma, Arizona - Enjoy fresh herbs from your own container garden! On Thursday, October 21st, the Main Library will host “Mason Jar Herb Gardens” at 6:00 p.m. Librarian Julie Calderon will discuss the basics of container gardening, and attendees will have the opportunity to create their own starter garden in a mason jar to take home. Supplies will be provided.

Phoenix, Arizona - On Tuesday, Nevale Roanhorse, 39, of Teetso, Arizona, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Diane J. Humetewa to five years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. Roanhorse previously pleaded guilty to Arson.

Dallas, Texas - Five subsidiaries of West Texas Gas Inc. will spend up to $5 million on compliance measures in a settlement that resolves allegations in the United States’ complaint, lodged today, that they violated federal Clean Air Act chemical accident prevention requirements at several of their natural gas processing plants. The companies will pay more than $3 million in civil penalties to resolve claims stemming from fatal chemical accidents and accident prevention program violations.

San Luis, Arizona - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced that a State Grand Jury has indicted Guillermina Fuentes, of San Luis, Arizona, on additional charges related to her alleged illegal conduct in the August 2020 Primary Election. Fuentes is accused of voting for another person with an early ballot.

Yuma, Arizona - On Monday, just before 5:30 pm, a fire alarm was reported going off in the San Carlos Hotel, 106 East 1st Street. There was a further report that there might be a fire in one of the apartments. Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to find there had been a mattress on fire in room #223, but the fire suppression sprinkler system had put out the fire.
