Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey Tuesday joined survivors of child sexual abuse, victim advocates and Arizona State Senators Paul Boyer and Heather Carter for a ceremonial signing of H.B. 2466. The bill, which passed unanimously in the Arizona State Legislature, strengthens protections for victims of child sexual abuse by extending the amount of time victims have to pursue civil action against perpetrators.

The Attorney General’s Tobacco Enforcement Unit (TEU) is seeing more retailers across Arizona fail undercover tests when it comes to selling tobacco products to minors. After seeing a steady decline in recent years, TEU attributes the recent spike of failure rates to the sale of e-cigarettes to minors.

Phoenix, Arizona - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced that his Office obtained, pursuant to the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act, a Consent Judgment in the Maricopa County Superior Court against Betson Coin-Op Distributing Company, Inc. (“Betson”), a New Jersey-based company. The settlement arises out of Betson’s sales and leases of Sega Key Master Prize Redemption Machines (“Key Master”) in locations throughout Arizona, such as shopping malls, gas stations, and convenience stores.

Phoenix, Arizona - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced almost $2 million has been recovered for victims of a 10-year-old Phoenix-based boiler room telephone fraud operation through civil forfeiture and liquidation of seized property. The Attorney General’s Financial Remedies Section (FRS) and the U.S. Postal Inspector conducted the investigation.
