Former Supreme Court Justices Finalize Third-Party Corrections Investigation, Report

Phoenix, Arizona - Former Arizona Supreme Court Justices Rebecca Berch and Ruth McGregor have finalized a report into the effectiveness of locks and other security issues at Lewis Prison. The justices were asked by Governor Ducey to conduct an independent, third-party investigation into lock issues, including their causes and actions taken by the Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) to address them.

Phoenix, Arizona - Trooper Randi Wybron is one of more than 1,000 Arizona State Troopers receiving pay raises this year included in Arizona’s fiscal year (FY) 2020 budget. Arizona’s fiscally conservative, balanced budget provides $74.7 million for raises to public safety personnel including $21 million for a 10 percent pay increase for State Troopers.

Heat Illness Responses at Castle Dome Middle School

Yuma, Arizona - Today, just before 1:00 pm, a pull station fire alarm was received from Castle Dome Middle School, 2353 South Otondo Drive. The school was in session at the time and Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to find evacuations in progress. Firefighters worked with school officials to confirm there was no fire in the school and determined this had been a false alarm set off by a student.
