Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey today announced $120,000 for Heal the Hero Foundation, supporting its work to mitigate the mental health impacts facing first responders during COVID-19. Heal the Hero Foundation offers technology-based mental health support—along with community education, research and training—for veterans, first responders and abuse survivors.

Yuma, Arizona - Yesterday, at 11:30 am, a fire was reported at the Arizona Inn, 2655 South 4th Avenue. Arriving Yuma Fire Department personnel found heavy smoke coming from a laundry room at the Inn. A double stack dryer was found to be on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and damage was contained to the laundry room.

Phoenix, Arizona - The Arizona Attorney General’s Office (AGO) released its findings in the SB 1487 investigation of whether the City of Tucson’s ordinance, which calls for elections for city council and city ballot measures to be held “off-cycle” in 2021 rather than on the statewide election dates in 2022, violates state law. The AGO has determined that the ordinance (11731), enacted on February 19, 2020, may violate state law.
