Yuma, Arizona - Lately the Yuma Fire Department responded to several calls to remove wild snakes from homes/public areas. It is estimated that nearly 8,000 people are bitten by venomous snakes each year, which results in 8 to 15 deaths. It is very important to immediately seek medical treatment if you are ever bitten by a venomous snake. According to the University of Arizona’s College of Pharmacy, there are 17 different species or subspecies of rattlesnakes in Arizona, and all are venomous.
AWC Foundation Forms AWC Alumni Association David Godley Named President

Yuma, Arizona - In observance of Arizona Western College's 50th Anniversary, the AWC Foundation is sponsoring the newly-formed AWC Alumni Association to provide scholarships and help connect students to the workplace. David Godley, Professor Emeritus at AWC, has been named president of the Association.

Yuma, Arizona - The U.S. Border Patrol’s Yuma Sector will conduct a Law Enforcement Memorial honoring fallen law enforcement officers. The program will include remarks from Yuma Border Patrol Sector Chief Patrol Agent Stephen S. Martin, Honor Guard Posting of the Colors, a 21 gun salute, the rendering of Taps, and reading from a list of fallen Border Patrol agents from Yuma Sector.

Yuma, Arizona - Yesterday at approximately 8:00am a subject who was crossing through a vacant lot located behind the 2200 block of Elks Lane observed a male subject who was not breathing and notified authorities.
