Eradicate “Spice” and “Bath salts” in Yuma County Program

Yuma, Arizona - The Yuma Police Department in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Arizona Department of Public Safety, Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, San Luis Police Department, Somerton Police Department, Wellton Police Department, Arizona Western College Police Department, Cocopah Police Department, Quechan Police Department and the County Attorney’s Office are collectively working together to eradicate “Spice” and “Bath salts” in Yuma County.

Nationwide prescription drug “Take-Back” initiative

Yuma, Arizona - The Drug Enforcement Administration along with state and local law enforcement and community partners announced a sixth nationwide prescription drug “Take-Back” initiative that seeks to prevent increased pill abuse and theft. The City of Yuma Police Department has agreed to take part in this initiative and will be collecting potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction on Saturday, April 27^th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Yuma, Arizona - The Yuma County Library District, in collaboration with Yuma Film Commission, Kwatsan Radio, and Arizona Western College, is pleased to present the Greenlight Film Festival on Friday, May 3^rd. The film festival will feature short films created by local students ages 13-24.

Yuma, Arizona - Join Anton Mizerak and Laura Berryhill for a magical evening of transformational healing music, Celtic song, myths and stories, and participatory chants from around the world. They will perform during the Transformational Music Concert to be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 7 p.m. at the Yuma Center for Spiritual Living, 781 2nd Avenue in Yuma. Tickets cost $10 and will be available at the door.
