Yuma, Arizona - This evening, at approximately 7:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision that occurred in the 300 block of West 24th Street.

The investigation showed that a 21 year old male that was impaired by alcohol was crossing 24th Street between Virginia Drive and 4th Avenue when he was struck by a white Fiat passenger car driven by a 28 year old male.

The pedestrian was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.  The front seat passenger suffered a minor injury in the collision.
