Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey recognizes the heroism of America's prisoners of war and servicemembers missing in action on National POW/MIA Recognition Day.

“Today we pay tribute to the brave men and women who are fighting to protect our freedoms overseas and sadly haven’t made it home.

"To put on a uniform and answer your country’s call without knowing if you’ll return is the highest form of courage.

“Arizona — and the nation — will be forever indebted to these prisoners of war and soldiers missing in action who took the ultimate risk in order to defend their fellow citizens.

“I encourage all Arizonans to join me in praying for the safe turn of these American heroes and thanking their families for suffering through such trying times. They didn’t give up on us, and we will never give up on them.”
