| Court Order Violation Results in Yuma Shooting |

Yuma, Arizona - On 10/29/08 at 1:00am, the Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence in the 10400 block of E. 36th Place in reference to a disturbance in progress. When Deputies arrived, they located a subject identified as Jason Rabe, 28, of Yuma, near the side of the residence. Rabe had sustained a gunshot wound to his hip. Also located at the scene was his wife, who is considered a victim in this case, and another male subject who is also being considered a victim at this time. The female victim in this case holds a valid court order of protection against Rabe, who is her estranged husband. The female victim reported that at approximately 0045 hours, her dog started barking, and the male victim who was staying at the residence, went to investigate. The male victim, prior to going outside, obtained a handgun. The male victim reported as he went around the side of the house, he was confronted and charged by a male subject wearing a bandana over his face. The masked subject, later identified as Rabe, struck the male victim, knocking him to the ground and began yelling he was going to kill the male victim. A struggle ensued during which the male victim fired one round, striking Rabe in the hip, ending the assault. After shooting Rabe, the male victim began to administer first aid to Rabe. Rabe was taken to YRMC and admitted for emergency surgery. The extent of Rabe’s injuries are not known at this time.
