Yuma, Arizona - Representative Raúl M. Grijalva today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration is awarding additional grant funds in the amount of $258,394 to Yuma International Airport to design the next phase of their Defense Contractor’s Complex (DCC) aircraft parking apron.

Part of the funds will assist in the ongoing rehabilitation of Taxiway F-3, which connects the airport’s DCC to the airport’s 13,000 foot runway.

“Congress recently passed the final piece of legislation for the FAA’s Airport Improvement Program for this fiscal year. These remaining funds will cap off this year’s construction projects and provide the airport with the necessary money to design next year’s improvements. I am particularly glad to see our Airport working so closely with their military partners at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma,” said Representative Grijalva.

The grant funds are part of the FAA’s Airport Improvement Program which includes an annual allocation of grant funds to take care of the airport infrastructure that is vital in keeping the nation’s aviation industry flying safely and efficiently.
