Yuma, Arizona - Paul Bensel and the Humane Society of Yuma’s New Shelter Project is teaming up for ‘Carats for Cats and Canines.’ “We are still raising funds to build a new shelter and the public has really stepped up and donated some beautiful pieces of jewelry”, states Elkie Wills, Development Director. “This is a unique way of getting the public involved.”

This jewelry event consists of two efforts;

a) HSOY is looking for jewelry 14k or more and sterling silver to be donated to the event. This jewelry will be appraised for recommended retail pricing and set out for sale at Paul Bensel Jewelers. If the jewelry is not sold by the end of the event October 17th, 2008, the donor has the right to retrieve the jewelry or donate it back to the HSOY to be sold in another fashion.

b) HSOY is inviting the public to stop by to purchase the donated jewelry (no sales tax). Jewelry will be available with prices to fit all budgets. The pieces available range from rings to charms, antique pins to necklaces, bracelets and more. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the New Shelter Project.

Paul Bensel Jewelers is located at 3000 S. 4th Avenue, Yuma, Arizona (928) 344-3344
